Ultimate Civic League Wrap – 2018 Round 4

Round 4 saw a longtime BigV star hit the court, in a week that had no unexpected results.

7.05PM The Splashers 75 def. Redbacks 59

 

The ladder leading Splashers took on 5th place Redbacks, in what turned out to be a comfortable win for the league leaders. Redbacks couldn’t stop the hot shooting Splashers from outside, as they hit eight 3 pointers! Matt Shanahan led the way with 22 points and was supported by Nic Uzelac’s 15. For the Redbacks, Paul Eager and Peter Hayman both had 13.

8.00PM St. Mary’s 67 def. No Big Deal 52

 

Having secured only 1 win this seaon by forfeit, No Big Deal struggled once again. This time it was against a Sharks team that had some special support from the U12/6 Boys, who were watching their coaches, Tom and Mark. Former Eagles junior and Vic Metro representative, Ryan Bowkett, had 13 points in his first Civic League game, but was outdone by older brother Liam, who had 16. No Big Deal were led by Josh Shaw who finished with 16 points of his own.

8.55PM Uni Hill 55 def. by Greenhills 70

 

BigV stalwart, Luke Egan, took the floor for the Beavers in this round’s Game of the Week against Uni Hill. No stranger to the court, Luke has played many times at Diamond Valley during his time in the BigV. This showed, as he dropped 15 points in his first Ultimate Civic League game. Adam Moore had a lazy 28 points in the 15 point win, while Josh Grubb and Lucas Sovleski both had 15 for Uni Hill.
