Australian Under 17 player & Gems Bronze medalist Alexandra Sharp will return home to Diamond Valley for season 2016. Alex has completed 2 years as a member of the CoE squad and in that time has been a part of the U/17 & U/19 National programs and a part of the emerging Opals squad under Brendan Joyce & Paul Gorris.

Alex will play with our Senior Women and prepare for the next phase of her life as a Wake Forest Demon Deacon. “It is a great result for our club and team as we build on progressing towards the finals in 2016. “ – Head Coach Dee Butler.

Alan McAughtry – “First and foremost Alex will be home, close to her family, friends and teammates she has grown up with. Our focus will be to prepare Alex as best we can for her upcoming season with DV and life ahead as a Wake Forest player. We will continue the work to prepare Alex for what lies ahead, there will be some young players excited about seeing Alex back playing at Diamond Valley “

Alex Sharp – “The choice to come back to Diamond Valley was somewhat complicated, yet at the same time the easiest decision I've made in the past few years. I know I'm coming home to world class coaches who will continue to develop me as both a player and a person. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to be an Eagle again, and can't wait to put the red, green and white back on. Diamond Valley is a special club to me, and I can't think of a better place to be to prepare me for my next journey to the U.S.”
