Carly Turner, St Marys Gaels –

Featuring in 9 of the 10 games played for the season to date, Carly is averaging 3.2 points, 2.1 rebounds and 0.8 assists per game for the Gaels, shooting a massive 45% from the 3pt line in the early part of the season. St Marys currently hold an impressive 8-2 record and will take a 3 game win streak into December 17’s match up with Cal Poly in Berkeley, California.

Matt Jackson, Grand Canyon ‘Lopes –

Taking part in all 9 games played in the current season, Matt is averaging 5.9 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1 assist per game for GCU. The ‘Lopes have put together a 7-2 record, with 1 of their losses coming against the incredibly strong 2013 NCAA National Champions, the Louisville Cardinals. Matt and the ‘Lopes hit the court again tomorrow at home against Delaware State.

Abi Akintola, Denver Pioneers –

In his first season of college basketball, Abi has only featured in the 1 game so far which was a 13 point win against Lipscomb. The Pioneers have begun the season with a solid 7-3 record, their last win being a 1 point nail-biter against Damian Lillard’s alma mater, Weber State. Denver takes on Northern Colorado in their next game, scheduled for the 16th.

Kai Woodfall, Southwest Baptist Bearcats –

Featuring in all 9 of the Bearcats’ games this season and starting 6 of them, Kai has been averaging 5.6 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game as SBU has tallied a 6-3 record in that time. The Bearcats finish off 2015 with a 2 game home stand against Fort Hays State on the 19th and Sterling College on the 30th of December.

Matt McCarthy, San Francisco Dons –

Matt has taken part in all 9 of the Dons’ games this season so far, putting together 2.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The Dons sit a touch above .500 with a 5-4 record and take on Coppin State at home on the 18th before heading off to California to take on the St Mary’s Gaels on the 21st  of December.

Amy O’Neill/Bridget Mimmo, Cowley County Tigers -
Both Amy and Bridget have taken part in all 13 of the Tigers’ games to date, with Amy averaging 7.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists and Bridget contributing 9.2 points, 5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game. The Tigers are 13-2 in the season and currently on a 4 game win streak. Their next contest is at home on the 2nd of January against Dodge City.

 

Max Viitala, Ambrose Lions –

Plying his trade in Canada, Max has been in all 9 games for the Lions as they sit currently with a 5-4 record. Max has been putting in serious work – averaging 18.1 points, 8.6 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game to date. Max and the Lions go on a break over Christmas, returning on January 15th at home against Olds College.

 

Steve Viterbo, Young Harris Mountain Lions –

After graduating from Young Harris College, having started the most games in the College’s Basketball history and being 2nd overall in their total points, rebounds, assists, steals and blocks, Steve is now on board as an Assistant Coach with the Men’s Basketball program. Working closely with the Head Coach, Steve and the Mountain Lions are currently trying to find their feet this season, with a 2-7 record in the first 9 games – with 4 losses being of a margin of 6 points or less. Young Harris take on Armstrong State on December 17th at home in their next game.
