VYCW

Eagles 73 def. Bulleen Boomers 71

The VYCW were lucky to come away with a win against a Boomers side who have struggled so far in 2018. A slow start hurt the Eagles, but they were able to regain control of the game and come away with the points. Mikayla peterson had 25 points and 9 rebounds to lead the team.

 

 

VYCM

Eagles 80 def. by Bulleen Boomers 82 (OT)

The Eagles pushed the Boomers all the way into Overtime Sunday, and were unlucky to lose on the buzzer Sunday. A huge effort in the 4th quarter saw the Eagles come from 13 points down to force extra time. Matt Baggio (20 points) hit 2 free throws with just under a minute to go in the 4th quarter, which was the last score of regulation. The Men were eventually defeated on a buzzer beating shot in unlucky circumstances.

 

 

SEABL Women

Eagles 110 def Albury Wodonga Bandits 56

The SEABL Women put on a dominant display from start to finish in this one, nearly doubling the Bandits’ score! A 36 to 6 third quarter was the highlight, and hopefully a sign of what is to come for this Eagles team! All Eagles scored, with an impressive 34 assists for the game. 5 Eagles had double figures in points, an exciting statement made to the league.

 

Eagles 84 def. Ballarat Rush 62

Another strong 3 quarter was the difference in this one, as the Eagles came out after half time and put the clamps on the Rush. The Eagles dominated the inside through Lauren Scherf (34 points and 15 rebounds), pounding the ball inside and getting to the foul line.

 

 

SEABL Men

Eagles 69 def. by Albury Wodonga 76

Turnovers proved to be the killer, for the SEABL Men, going to the Bandits Saturday night. It was all tied up at the last change, but the Eagles were unable to finish the game, coming away with a tight loss. The Bandits shot double the amount of free throws to the Eagles, which was pivotal down the stretch of the game. Daniel Camps (13 points and 11 rebounds) and Mike Best (19 points and 10 rebounds) both had double-doubles for the Eagles.

 

Eagles 83 def. Ballarat Miners 80

The SEABL men had to back up the next day against the Miners, who championship contenders this season. A massive 4th quarter saw the Eagles outscore their opponents by 15, coming away with a promising away win. Darcy Harding led all scorers with 22 points on 50% shooting, while Mike Best had another double-double!
