Steph Gorman Flies South for the Winter

The DVBA are proud to announce Steph Gorman as the newest signing to the SEABL Eagles women’s team for 2018.

Growing up in Albury NSW, Steph was identified early as a player with a lot of potential naturally having a high basketball I.Q. and the ability to consistently knock down the open shot. The 177cm guard was selected in the U16 and U18 Victoria Country State teams. In 2017 she helped Victoria Country win a gold medal at the Australian Junior Championships and was commonly known as the most important player on that team.

After a stellar performance at the U18 Australian Junior Championships, the sharp shooting guard was awarded with an invitation to the Australian Development Camp, and then selected in the highly coveted U20 Victorian State team.

If that wasn’t enough, Gorman was elevated to the Albury/Wodonga Lady Bandits in the SEABL competition at just 16 years old. In the 2017 season she averaged 10.2 points per game, 3.7 rebounds per game and 2.4 assists per game. Her best game came in round 1 against the Sandringham Sabres when she scored 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals.

Steph is excited to join the Eagles.

“I am stoked to be a part of the team at Diamond Valley! I’m excited for everyone to come together and see how far we can go this season.”

Head coach of the 2018 SEABL women Zoe Carr is looking forward to Steph joining the nest.

“Steph is an incredibly talented athlete. Her ability to hit the 3 consistently at SEABL level is well beyond her years. I’m looking forward to seeing what she brings to our group having had 2 years in the league already.” Carr said.

Be sure to come and support Steph and the SEABL Eagles in April when the season kicks off.

General Admission Memberships will go on sale on Monday 18th December. A great last minute Christmas gift idea.
