Civic League Wrap - Round 12

Round 12 brought the arrival of star talent including Chris Arkell, Jack Roberts and Luke Valentine. With teams starting to make a push for finals, Dream Team’s win this week gives them some breathing room in 3rd place. The 4th spot is up for grabs with several teams looking to find their form heading towards the pointy end of the season.

Round 12 Results

6.10PM Wolves 53 v The Splashers 59

The Splashers seem to be in a rut, with a non-convincing win against the competitive Wolves. No credit taken away from the Wolves, as they are showing each week that they are no pushovers. The ability of Bryson Norris and Sam Whelan once again was on show this week, carrying the scoring load in a tough fought win for the Splashers. The Splashers will need to be better next week to have a chance against the rested Greenhills Beavers.

7.05PM Uni Hill 60 v Redbacks 57

With 4th place in their grasp, both teams left everything out on the court resulting in the game being an absolute ripper. It was a great spectacle with the margin never exceeding single digits and the arrival of high calibre talents, Chris Arkell (Uni Hill) and Luke Valentine (Redbacks).  There could only be one winner though, with Uni Hill claiming victory. Ernst Kruger and Chris Arkell proved dividends combining for 40 points.

8.00PM Greenhills Beavers 20 v Gale Force 0

Unfortunately Gale Force could find enough players to play this week, leaving Greenhills with another win in their perfect season so far.

8.55PM Dream Team 100 v St. Mary’s Sharks 75

Defence seemed to be non-existent in this game, with a combined 175 points on the night. The offensive juggernaut Dream Team were simply unstoppable, reaching triple digits on the night. Dream Team have found another star with new recruit, Jack Roberts, finishing with 38 points including 8 treys.  St Mary’s Sharks will be looking to get back in the winner’s circle next week, otherwise they may find themselves outside the top 4.
