Civic League Wrap - Round 2

The second round of our Ultimate Civic League has been completed with three teams still currently undefeated. With teams slowly starting to get players back from other commitments the competition is starting to get extremely competitive.

 

Round 2 Results:

 

6.10PM Wolves 46 v Greenhill Beavers 62

Greenhills continue to show why they are strong contenders this season with a great win against the Wolves, who have shown they can contend with the best of them. The Wolves had some key players back for them this week and it showed leading at half time, 29 – 25. However the talent of Greenhills proved to be too much with Adam Moore, Dean Plummer and Jeremy Datson combining for 55 of their 62 points.

7.05PM Uni Hill 40 v Dream Team 69

The Dream Team have continued their fast tempo this week and have proved to be a contender this season.  Scott Dowell has continued his strong start in this competition scoring 29 points for the game. Jason Hendry gave another great contribution but it was not enough to slow down the Dream Team.

8.00PM Gale Force 79 v Redbacks 58

Another great showdown between these two teams after playing off last season for the Monday Night A grade competition. Gale Force came out on fire in the third, winning the quarter 27-11. Nick Jones had a great game finishing with 33 points and 5 3’s, Paul Meager also was on fire from beyond the 3 point line converting 5 3’s and finishing with 19 points.

8.55PM The Splashers 61 – St. Mary’s Sharks 59 

This game lived up to the hype with only 2 points separating the two teams. The Splashers controlled the first quarter 18 – 9 however after that quarter it was almost even across the other 3 quarters. Cameron Conlon was a man possessed scoring 30 points including 5 3’s, which comes to a huge surprise to his own teammates. Sam Whelan and Jackson Todd were the deciding factor in the winning result for the Splashers combining for 24 points.
