On Sunday 23^rd of April, 134 players, parents and coaches from our U16 and U18 girls program attended the launch of the Diamond Valley Girls Buddy Program.

The 3 pillars of the program are Development, Community and Leadership.

 Development will provide avenues for our athletes to gain accreditations and certificates in a range of areas including mental health and coaching. Athletes will also attend seminars on life skill subjects such as nutrition and public speaking.

Community will provide our girls with the opportunity to give back and gain valuable experience in project management by managing a project that will be beneficial to members of our community.

The leadership component will consist of our U16 and U18 athletes getting a buddy to provide support and guidance to as they enter the Junior Eagles Program.

Members were treated to a video presentation from Ryan Mobilia from Valuable Impact Social Media on the importance of appropriate social media usage, and a presentation from the Ambassador to the Buddy Program, Elyse Penaluna, who passed on some amazing information to our athletes on the setbacks that can be faced and how do deal with it.

The program was received exceptionally well with 46 athletes volunteering to be involved to better themselves, and the lives of others.
