SHARPY'S LAST STAND

Tonight's 8pm clash with the Warrandyte Venom at Diamond Valley Sports and Fitness Centre likely marks the last time we will witness homegrown St Thomas Hawk and Diamond Valley Eagle, Alex Sharp suit up in the red and white for some time.

Alex, a Basketball Australia Centre of Excellence graduate and member of 2 Junior Australian National teams, has been having an excellent season back at home with the Eagles in the Big V Basketball competition – but she has more mountains to conquer as she departs after tonight’s game to embark upon a Basketball scholarship at Wake Forest University in the Division 1 U.S College system.

Alex is an incredible role model for our young athletes, both on and off the court and we highly recommend coming along to see her farewell game, as a great send off for her and tangible example of what young Basketballers in our local community can accomplish with dedication and hard work.

Tip off for Alex and our State Championship Women is at 8pm, and if you’d like to attend earlier our Victorian Youth Championship Women play at 6pm (Adults : $6, Children 17 and under : $3).

See you there !
