We have witnessed the completion of our first series of “Northern Basketball Camps” conducted at the Diamond Valley Basketball Stadium. The extremely chilly mornings where I think it was colder in the stadium than outside did not stop the enthusiastic athletes taking to the floor. The camps were structured to educate and develop the individuals with their shooting, ball handling and dribbling, passing, defence and game play. The coaches were right into it and did a great job relating to the players helping them improve their basketball. It was exciting to see so many enthusiastic young basketball players looking to take their game to the next level.

The office has already received great feedback regarding the camps. One of Diamond Valley’s up and comers had this to say, “the camp was great today, it was so much better run with much more attention paid by the coaches on what we were doing and the drills were good drills to make us work” , Makai Plummer.

It was very pleasing to see players from other Associations take the opportunity to further develop their playing ability. The camp participants have been provided plenty to work on which will improve their game performance. If they do the work, they will more than likely move ahead of players they were of a similar ability to, prior to the camp.
