Youth League Round 11 Preview

Both our Youth League teams have 2 games this weekend, with another Sunday afternoon double-header at the Valley!

Victoria Youth Championship Women

The VYCW currently sit 4th on the ladder in their pool, and travelling to face the Hume City Broncos on Saturday night, who are on the bottom. A tough 2018 so far, the Broncos will be hungry for a win and the Eagles cannot take this one lightly.

The team then backs up against the Nunawading Spectres at Diamond Valley, Sunday. The Spectres are coming off a loss last weekend to Ringwood, which is 1 of only 3 so far this season. Nunawading have a deep team, but are also coming off a game the night before, so fatigue will play a big factor in this one! Look for Mikayla Peterson, Ivana Vasiljevic and Nicola Stewart to continue their strong Big V seasons in this tough contest!

Victorian Youth Championship Men

The VYCM are coming off their second win for the season, and will be hoping to back it up again against Blackburn on Saturday night. The Vikings are just out of the top 4 and have multiple players who can contribute to the scoring. The Eagles will need a team effort to get this one.

On Sunday, Diamond Valley will host the Keilor Thunder, who have Saturday night off to prepare for the game. The Thunder are sitting 4th in the pool with a record of 7 wins and 7 losses. BJ Symons is the one to stop, averaging 18 points and nearly 10 rebounds a game! The Eagles’ bench will get a work out for this game, coming off a game the night before.

Make sure you come down to support your Youth League Eagles; entry is just $6 for Adults and $3 for Children.
