Ayres stars at U18 Nationals
The U18 National Junior Championships kicked off in Townsville on Saturday featuring Apollo Rockets and Diamond Valley Eagles player Sharna Ayres, and she has not disappointed. Sharna is representing an unbeaten Victoria Metro women’s team, averaging 10.33 points, 3 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.7 steals per game in just 17.2 minutes across 3 games.
The Victoria Metro women will look to continue their form tomorrow at 11:00am against ACT.
Another familiar Diamond Valley face is participating in the Championships as a part of the coaching staff. Darren Bortolus is the selector of the Victoria Metro men who are currently 2-1 heading into day 4. Tomorrow the men take on a strong Queensland South at 1pm.
