BIG V GAME DAY : ROUND 18 IS A BEYONDBLUE BASH

At this weekend’s Big V Basketball Double Header, the DVBA are partnering with beyondblue to put on a Beyondblue Bash to raise awareness of support for sufferers of depression and anxiety.

Beyondblue is an organization that offers support, advice and action to reduce the impact of these conditions. They empower people with the confidence to support those around them and make often difficult topics, such as anxiety, depression and suicide, part of everyday conversations. And as well as tackling stigma, prejudice and discrimination, they are breaking down the barriers that prevent people from speaking up and reaching out.

No one deserves to suffer in silence and strangers care. We have an obligation to eachother to stay ready to lend a helping hand when it’s needed – it’s always been the Aussie way.

It’s safe to say that each of our lives have all have been touched by depression and anxiety, either directly or with family members, friends, workmates or colleagues. The impact can of these conditions can become very serious, and this is our opportunity to provide awareness and donations to help.

The DVBA have set up a link with Beyondblue for thoughtful, generous people to donate to, which can be found here : http://bit.ly/2at9sKN and we are proud to announce that proceeds from Saturday night’s Beyondblue Bash’s raffle, game night stalls and donation boxes will also go to the cause.

Bring the whole family and come down to watch 2 quality Basketball games and most importantly, support our Beyondblue Bash to do your bit.

We look forward to seeing you there on Saturday night.
