Woodend/Hesket Under 18.5 premiership player Mitch Hannan made his debut for Melbourne on the weekend.

Macedon took on Hepburn from the Central Highlands League on Saturday.
In football action, the Under 18.5s started strongly before fading mid-way through the second term to go down by more than eight goals. Both teams fielded 16 players on the ground at any one time. Ben Blake was one of the stand-outs for the Catrs.
In the Reserves, Hepburn ran away in the second half to win by 10 goals. The Cats tried hard all day and were serviced by a number of Under 18.5s players who backed up from hot conditions in the previous game.
In the Seniors, Hepburn won by two goals. Errol McConnell, Aaron Christiansen, Casey Summerfield and Clinton Burgess were the best for the locals.
Woodend/Hesket took on Trentham at Gilbert Gordon Oval.
In netball, Woodend/Hesket's Under 15s recorded an impressive 65-5 win.
The Hawks finished strongly in the Under 19s to win by 17 goals, 32-15. Brittany Bowen, Marnie Turner and Chelsea Alcaraz were the best for the Hawks.
Trentham prevailed in the combined A/B Grade game, 38 to 33. Ally Watkins, Maddy Staresina and Shannon Kirkpatrick were the best for the Hawks.
In football, Under 16s was won by Woodend/Hesket. Lachlan Randle-Hewitt, Cade Brabham and Bailey Purcell were the best.
Trentham and Woodend/Hesket fought a memorable battle in the Under 18s. Tyson Chapman kicked five goals for the Hawks while Charlie Mathieson was a stand-out at centre half back.
Woodend/Hesket won the Reserves game by two goals. Hawk senior coach Ross Sleight controlled the middle, captain Ric Cerminara and Josh Connolly also played well.
Trentham kicked the last four goals of the Senior match to win by a kick. Tom Gawthrop starred for the Hawks up forward alongside Liam Barton. Tom O'Loughlin returned for his first game for the Hawks since a kidney injury he suffered against Trentham last year.
Rockbank took on Tarneit. In the Senior football, the Rams led by four-points in a high-scoring encounter, 31 to 27.
Rockbank kicked away to a 15-point lead at halftime. The pair went goal-for-goal in the second half with seven goals apiece. The Rams were too good, winning 16.8 (104) to 13.12 (90).
Colbinabbin edged out Romsey Senior footballers by a few kicks.
Rupertswood had a solid win over Hillside in the Senior football hit-out.
Sunbury Lions edged out Diggers Rest by 20 points.

Former Redan netballer Sally Riley is a premiership player with Adelaide in the AFL Women's competition.
Riley started on the bench and gathered six touches, and one mark in the club's thrilling six-point win over Brisbane in the Grand Final.
On the other side, former Ballarat star Kaitlyn Ashmore had the second most touches for Brisbane with 15. She also took five marks and kicked one point at half forward.
Ballarat team mate Nicole Hildebrand started on the bench but was a stand-out with 14 touches, four marks and laid one tackle.

Former Lake Wendouree junior Dan Butler made his AFL debut for Richmond last Thursday night.
The North Ballarat Rebel 2014 draftee gathered 19 touches, laid three tackles, had 50 inside 50s and finished with 2.1 in a very impressive debut against the Blues. His first goal was an assist from Dustin Martin in the goal square.
He was named in Richmond's best.
On the other side, Macedon's Lachie Plowman played his best game for Carlton.
The former Giant gathered 20 touches, took 10 marks and was the second best player on the ground for one-percent acts (12). He backed into packs and fisted the ball away on countless occasions to be a stand-out defender.
Former Gisborne resident and Woodend junior Mitch Hannan made his debut for Melbourne on Saturday afternoon.
Hannan played exciting and daring football at half forward and was a stand-out for Footscray in the VFL last year that led to him being drafted to the Dees.
He gathered 16 touches, took seven marks, laid four tackles, had five inside 50s (equal second best for the team) and kicked two goals in the win over St Kilda.
Hannan's first goal was a classic snap around the body to bring the crowd to their feet.
Sunbury Lion's junior Cameron Guthrie was a late withdrawal from Geelong's winning effort against Fremantle. The key defender pulled out from the game due to a calf injury.
Gisborne Rookie Pat McKenna played for Casey Scorpions in a VFL practice match. McKenna spent two years with the Giants before being traded to Melbourne last season.
Romsey's Jake Lever returned from a hamstring injury to play for Adelaide in a SANFL practice match in a 14-goal loss to Woodville-West Torrens. Lever started quiet in the first term before having a solid impact after quarter-time to finish with one goal and 19 touches.
Riddell's Tommy Sheridan was an emergency for Fremantle in its loss to Geelong.
