Woodend-Hesket has announced former Sunbury Lions premiership player Ross Sleight as the new coach of the Riddell District Football League club for the next two years.
Sleight, who played with the Essendon Doutta Stars in the Essendon District Football League this season, will be a playing coach.
The Hawks officially announced Sleight's appointment on Monday night.
Glenn Hopkins stood down as senior coach at the end of the season.
Hawks president Stewart Braddy said the club was enthusiastic with what Sleight had to bring to the club.
"He played in the Sunbury premiership and is a lovely young bloke," he said.
