The Melton Toyota Riddell District Football & Netball League, in conjunction with award sponsor Dome Security, are pleased to announce the nomination for the Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award for the Round 5 of the 2013 RDFNL season is Nick Arnold from the Macedon FNC
Steve Turner is a name synonymous with junior football in the north/western metropolitan areas. Steve is a Life Member of the Riddell District FNL who has held many roles within the league, including a stint as Football Operations Manager and on the RDFNL Board. In 2013, Steve has returned to the RDFNL Board as well as taking up a team manager's role with the Western Jets in the TAC Cup.
Arnold, who is a member of the RDFNL's Senior Interleague squad preparing for their return to representative football in the Worksafe AFL Victoria Country Championships next weekend, has been outstanding for the Cats to start the 2013 season.
Arnold, who played three senior games in 2012 whilst spending the majority of the season in the Under 18.5's, has been named amongst Macedon's best players in all five of their senior games in 2013, with the Cats recording victories in three of those five games.
To be eligible for the Steve Turner Medal, players must be under 23 years of age, and have played less that 15 senior games prior to the start of the 2013 season. Players must have played junior or Under 18.5 football in the RDFNL, and have made themselves available for selection in RDFNL Interleague Programs. The 2012 Steve Turner Medal - RDFNL Dome Rising Gun Award was won by Kayne Murphy from the Sunbury Kangaroos, and previous round's nominees for the 2013 season are available on this website, under the "Football" tab on the top menu
