A DECISION will be made today on when lightweight boxer Chavis Kora can resume training.
Kora has been off training since spraining a muscle on his right shin on February 28 during a rope-skipping session.
The boxers had been training in Melbourne two weeks ahead of the arrival of the bulk of Team PNG.
Kora has been on treatment since Monday, March 6.
Yesterday team doctor Bernie Amof said he was pleased Kora was really improving.
He will continue physio treatment and we will make a decision as to when he will resume training, Amof said.
Boxing manager John Avira said training was progressing well, adding Kora's recovery was good news for the team.
Avira said they were scaling down but would maintain fitness before the competition started.
Today (yesterday) is our last sparring session to avoid injuries, Avira said.
For the other sports, it was business as usual.
Weightlifting manager Toua Lou said their preparation, together with the Elite Athletes with Disabilities (EAD) was on target.
Lou said the session with a nutritionist on Wednesday was beneficial.
He said the lifters were now aware of what and how much they could eat to keep their weight.
Lou was happy to report the lifters were so far injury-free.
