Central Coast Champs a huge success.

The Central Coast Junior Touch Championships was played at EDSACC Oval North on Sunday with 70 teams competing which is over 1000 junior touch players. The weather was fine and the ground surface was like carpet, so everything was in order for a fantastic day of Touch football. One of the most pleasing things abpout the day was the manner in which all teams played with great sportsmanship and there wasnt any dramas with any referees. Everyone just got on with the day.

We were very fortunate to have at the ground Matty Johns & Geoff Toovey. Both these men helped with presenting the winners and runners up medals on the day. A big thankyou to them both as they were both there as [parents and spectators watching their kids. Australian Touch player Jason Stanton was also able to help out with presenting trophies on the day and we thank him as well.

A big thankyou to all the Berkeley Vale Club members who helped out during the day in the Canteen, BBQ and manning the Blackest Cats stall. The couldnt have run without all of your help. To Ross Murphy the Sno Cone man and Jared Maxwell and his expresso to Go coffee van thanks for your support on the day as well. Finally to all the Referees your efforts today was nothing short of fantastic in the conditions. All clubs chipped in and supplied referees which made the day a lot easier to keep the referees focussed on the day and not totally worn out. A job well done.

Congratulations to the Berkeley Vale Club on winning the Most Successful Central Coast club trophy for the fifth year in a row as well as the Trophy for the Overall Club Champions on the day. A great effort by all the teams and coaches. I am sure this will only help in the clubs quest to be the NSW Junior State Cup Club Champions in 2011 as well as trying to achieve a fourth Club Championship at the Peter Wilson Memorial.

We now look back on the tournament to look at ways to improve to make it better for next year. If anyone has any ideas or thoughts/suggestions on ways to make it a better tournament then please dont hesitate to contact the Operations manager at touch@bvpanthers.com.au.

Again thankyou to everyone who travelled long distances and to everyone who participated on the day. It was again a very successful Junior Touch Tournament all played on one day.
