A quick review on the day.

We had 18 affiliates participate with a total of 112 teams. All teams played a minimum of 3 games with semi finals and Finals in all age groups 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 Boys & Girls.

The gods were certainly looking over us on the day with beautiful summer weather for the majority of the day before we were hit with a quick down pour of rain around 3pm. The semi finals and finals were played in much cooler conditions with some light drizzle. All in all it was a great day and well enjoyed by everyone.

The Mens All Stars game was a spectacle in itself with field one surrounded by over 1000 spectators. They were treated with some special touch play and skills of current and ex NSW and Australian players. Thanks to all the players for travelling up and playing in this game. Your support of this game has not gone un noticed. The All Stars game was put on to raise much needed funds for the Save Our Sons Charity for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy disease. We had young 11yr old boy Tyron Harris who has this nasty disease at the game along with his parents. From portion of the nomination fees from all teams and money from the Berkeley Vale & All Star shirts along with money raised on the day a cheque of $3000 was presented to Bass Abboud who is the Events Manager and co-Founder of Save Our Sons. A big thank you to everyone who supported the charity on the day.

We also had Star 104.5 FM at the ground all day doing live radio crosses and keeping the little kids occupied with various activities on the day. A big thank you to Star 104.5 FM for their support and promotion of this event.

To Ross Murphy (Sno Cone) & Jared Maxwell (Coffee Van) thanks for your support as well on the day.

To Gavin King and John Turnbull a big thanks for the work you guys did with organising the referees. A massive job and it was done with great professionalism but the best thing was it was without any complaints at all about referees on the day. This is a big positive towards the work you guys did on the day.

Our First Aid officers of Artie & Belinda Te Whata and the St Johns Ambulance thanks for your time and effort on the day looking after all the minor cuts, abrasions and minor strains. Without your expertise and knowledge on first aid, the day could not have gone ahead. The kids always knew they were in good hands if any injuries occurred.

To my offsider on the day Riley Sohier, what a great job you did with keeping the results and tables up to date using the sportsware programme. This help was greatly appreciated to keep everyone updated through out the day.

Photos in a flash took hundreds of action shots on the day and are available to be purchased from their website at www.photosinaflash.com.au This is a great way to keep memories of such a great tournament.

To our Major Sponsor of the Tournament Jason Stanton from PEAK SPORTS. I thank you greatly for your ongoing and continued support of the Central Coast Junior Touch Championships. Without your support the medals and trophies would not be possible. Look forward to a lengthy relationship with Peak Sports over the coming years of this tournament.

I must not forget to thank the Wyong Shire Council & Tracey Southern for her assistance in obtaining the venue along with the cooperation from the Killarney Vale Soccer Club at EDSAAC North and The Entrance Tigers Rugby League for the use of their facilities.

Finally to all the hard working people behind the scenes from the Berkeley Vale Touch Club a massive thank you. Gavin King, Glenn Sullivan, Glen Butcher, Garry Edwards & Andy Reed thanks for your help with the setup of the fields and or the packing up at the end of the day greatly appreciated. Summer Boyton, Faye Shearer and all the other ladies in the canteen along with the three wise ladies on the BBQ Gina Edwards, Nicole Bird and my wife Leanne thank you again for all the help and work you ladies have done.

Overall it was again I think a successful carnival. A massive effort by everyone from all the players, coaches, mangers and referees to get through the day without not one complaint. I thank you all.

If anyone has any suggestions on how or what may be needed to make it be a better please don't hesitate to drop me an email. No matter how good wi think things are we can always improve and do better.
