IN SUPPORT OF PLAY FOR A CURE FOUNDATION

Chairman, Steve Tierney, hands Play for a Cure representatives, Graham McColm and Leigh Martyn with a cheque for over $3,000.

“Play for a Cure Ltd” was founded by Leigh Martyn in December 2010, after the loss of several friends to cancer in 2009, after already having lost her father, step-father and best friend to the same disease.

The funds were raised at the 2018 Women in League dinner attended by almost 200 guests to honour the selfless work of female volunteers supporting Rugby League in Brisbane.

Both Graham and Leigh expressed their thanks for the donation highlighting the importance of raising funds to help the various foundations in Australia doing their best to find a cure for cancer.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
