Getting ready for MAC in Guam.

Tiim training for MAC
Rabangaki working at Discus for MAC

It is unfortunate that several of the athletes who performed so magnificently in Samoa, in producing National Records and Personal Best performances, are of an age and stage in their education when priority has to be given to STUDIES !   Thus Taanini, Buraieta, Baiteke, Kaboka, and teacher Tekooki (and possibly Kaitinano) will not be travelling to Guam.

However, two who did not travel to Samoa will be on the plane (if it flies !!!) to Guam.   These are sprinter Ieie Matang (who was the best of our sprinters in Melbourne) and multi-eventer Rabangaki Nawai.   Others (all of whom participated in SPG) to have their selection confirmed are hurdler/high jumper Beteru Ateri, sprinters Tanroo Taniera and Tearoba Takeruru, and thrower Tiim Romatoa.   At the moment, since we do not yet have a schedule of events, allocating these athletes to a definite choice of events is not possible.   We hope to be able to confirm this before the OAA (LOC) deadline which is NEXT FRIDAY !

We are preparing these athletes and praying that we can get confirmed travel arrangements, enabling us to stop-over for a minimum time somewhere to get US VISAS !!!   Our choices are Majuro (preferred) or Suva or Sydney.   We have just over five weeks !

The photos show some of the preparations and a recovery !
