One competition too late !

Essential paperwork !

The amazing news circulated by OAA today (after Day 1 of the World Youth Championships in Ostrava, Czechoslovakia yesterday) is that I-Kiribati athlete, Tanroo Taniera, surpassed his personal best for the M100m. and achieved what would have been an AUTOMATIC qualifying time (wind permitting) for this World Series Meeting.   He would have been our FIRST !   He clocked 11.42 secs.   (The qualifying time was 11.45.)    More news, e.g. position in the Heat, confirming permissible wind, when to hand.

With the World Junior competition approaching in 2008, maybe he (or other Kiribati sprinters) could push to be the first qualifier.   That would be a huge step forward !   Another little piece of History !
