Training Programme for Disabled athletes

KAA officials introduce their Training Programme.

At a meeting with the main Kiribati organisation for Disabled people, Te Toamatoa, KAA President Peter Birati and Secretary Tekabara Raurenti introduced their proposed training programme to help the Para-athletes towards participation in an Oceania AA Para-athletics competition in Fiji in 2016.   They also demonstrated a set of basic warm-up activities, etc.

Later they split the group into two sub-groups, one to concentrate of running and the other on throwing.   Peter then supervised some running activities while Tekabara used his expertise to help the throwers.   It is planned for this session to be repeated regularly from now on.

Attachment shows their Report and a number of images taken during the Meeting.
