Over 60 Participants Complete Learn To Sail Program

Over the past 2 weeks, GSC has held 2 level 1 learn to sail school holiday programs. These two programs have involved over 60 participants, aged 7-12 all eager to get out on the water and learn the ropes of sailing. It wasn’t all about adventure sails though. Participants learnt a variety of skills including parts of the boat, capsizing and getting the boat back up after a capsize, how to rock the boat, various rope-tying knots including a figure 8 and a half hitch, the no-go zone, wind direction as well as tacking and jybing. We would like to say congratulations to all of our successful participants who took part in the 3-day courses. They will now have the opportunity to progress through to the Saturday morning level 2 learn to sail program at GSC; the 1st step to becoming a great sailor and having a good time with friends. Thankyou to all of our sailing instructors who helped out over the school-holiday period.
