GSC Sabot Sailors Compete At State Titles

The 2017 NSW Sabot State Titles kicked off last weekend, with round 1 of the series running from Saturday 21st/Sunday 22nd October at Wangi Sailing Club, Lake Maquarie. Our Gosford representatives aquitted themselves well, coming away with some stable results to go forward into round two of the regatta.
In the Sabot 1-up class a total of 30 competitors were racing. Day 1 of the regatta saw our Gosford star Lincoln Senior sailing ‘Need for Speed’ show his speed, scoring a 3, 6 and 17.
Lincoln also posted steady results on day 2 of the regatta, posting a 20th, 12th and 13th to put him in 13th position overall.

Meanwhile, fellow GSC 1-up sailors Jacob West and Myah Greenwood also had some good results, competing strongly on day 2 of the regatta. Jacob West sailing ‘Ticonderoga’ posted a 21, 14 and 16, easing through day which saw around 10 knots of breeze. Myah had a very consistent day, with 3 24’s. Both are progressing well in the class.

In the sabot 2-up class, grey skies didn’t stop Miles Greenwood and Annie Starr from being ‘Miles Away’ coming 1st in the 1st race on Sunday. They then went on to post a 5 and a 2, putting themselves in a steady position for round 2 of the regatta.

Round 2 of the NSW sabot states will take place on 18th/19th November at Drummoyne Sailing Club, Sydney. We congratulate all our sabot representatives and wish them all the best for the second half of the regatta!
 Go Northern NSW! Go Gosford!
