Australia Day Celebrations At GSC

Australia day is all about being an Australian right? So, when you ask an Aussie what they did on Australia Day most would say ‘slipped on a pair of thongs, filled up the esky, played a game of backyard cricket and had a snag on the barbeque’. Others would say it was a day of mourning and remembrance of Australia’s brutal beginnings. Well, at Gosford Sailing Club, it was certainly an ‘Aussie Aussie Aussie’ day.

By lunchtime Brisbane Water was transformed as yachts, sports craft and small dinghy’s all took to the water in the annual sail past event. All-sorts were worn, from favourite Aussie hats, to the traditional Aussie swimwear. Soon the water was an absolute Aussie spectacle, flowing with colours of green, gold, blue, white and red. Oh, and of course it was a competition trying to get as much of the Australian flag on every inch of the boat. Here are some pictures of the best-dressed, just in case you wanted to re-live the moment of being a true-blue Aussie.
