McIntosh and Summerell Compete At 420 Nationals In Adelaide

Congratulations to Sophie McIntosh and Emily Summerell who recently competed in the 420 Open Nationals down in Adelaide(Brighton and Seacliff Yacht Club). The girls managed to come away qualifying for the Worlds to be held in Freemantle at the end of the year. McIntosh noted that it was great to be back home after finishing off an intense 2 months of sailing, and the 420 sailing season. Here is her latest post on Facebook: ‘Great to be back home after finishing off the season with a week of racing in Adelaide. Conditions consisted of up to 40 degree heat, light, shifty winds and some unexpected sharks! Overall we finished 3rd female team and came away achieving our overall goal to qualify for the 2017 Open 420 Worlds to be held in Fremantle, Western Australia at the end of the year. A big thankyou to everyone for helping us out throughout the year! Especially our wonderful coach Craig Ferris and local home club Gosford Sailing Club who have both supported our endeavors immensely. Another season of sailing down!’ Follow more of their sailing regattas here: Go girls
