Perfect Sailing Conditions For All Sailors

Sailors had yet another wonderful week out on the water at Gosford Sailing Club with near perfect sailing conditions throughout the week. Saturday saw a light NE breeze of around 10-15 knots with warm, sunny weather. This encouraged many classes to get out onto the racetrack and take full advantage of the conditions. There were around 10 various classes on the water, racing in Point Score and Championship heats. The sunny conditions continued to appeal the delights of twilight sailors on Wednesday night, where a total of 35 yachts raced in heat 4 of the twilight series on course 3. Special race comments were given to the yachts Carpe Dien and Magpie, who were exactly on time to the start, as well as Granny Jen and Eggsilante who were a short 2 seconds off the start. Congratulations to the overall race winners Angelou II of division 1, True Blue of division 2 and Marko of division 3. Each came away with a Coastwide meat tray. Special congratulations to winner of division 1 and GSC life member Terry Pyke, who had a fantastic day out on the water as special guest skipper on Angelou 11. GSC is looking forward to what looks to be another great sailing weekend, with a forecast of 26 degree heat and a moderate SW breeze.
