Another Fantastic Day of Racing At GSC
GSC Sailors had a wonderful day both out on the water and onshore last Saturday afternoon as a steady North Easterly breeze blew in from the sea, lighting up the waters for GSC sailing members. Both the Laser and Mixed fleet welcomed the breeze, which saw tight racing and some fantastic runs with a variety of spinnakers up. The juniors also enjoyed their day, stepping it up to experience more chop, and more wind in their weekly sailing racing. This is the first sailing season in many years that the juniors have sailed amongst the larger etchell and skiff classes on the broader area of Brisbane waters. Still, many sailors did comment on the shifty conditions across the bay, which added a degree of difficulty for various classes across the bay. Amongst one, the Etchell sailors, who finished only a short few seconds apart from one another at the end of racing. The Etchells sailors also enjoyed the racing as they were involved in their first club championship of the sailing season. What did this mean? More food of course! Cocktail prawns and icy drinks were provided to the Etchell sailors at the end of the day, who came together after a hard day's of racing, one would say. Here are some exciting images summing up the on shore celebrations undertaken by many sailors.
