Sunny Start to the Twilight Racing

It was a fantastic start to the Twilight Yacht race Sailing season last Wednesday night, with 28 boats taking their place on the glistering waters of Brisbane Waters. Although the winds were not in everyone’s favour (with less than 5 knots of breeze), sailors were lucky enough to enjoy the mesmerizing sunset after racing. Warm colours of red and orange welcomed the sailors back to shore as they concluded the yacht race. Amongst one of the sailors, local hero Leisel Tesch, who recently won a gold medal at the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games in the Skud 18 class. Sailors later retreated to the wet bar, where Coastwide Meats and Wild Oats wine was presented to some lucky winners. Meat Tray's were presented to the winners of each sailing division, which included 'Rapid Clear' helmed by Jack Sprague, 'Carpe Diem' by Creg Cozoks and 'Zenith' by Andrew Grimwood. Wild Oats Wines  winners were presented to Trish from 'Granny Jen' and Peter Faulkner.  Special mention was given to both 'Elusive Spirit' and 'Magpie' which were both  first off the start line.
