Paralympics Update: Liesl and Dan In The Lead

Aussie and local legend Liesl Tesch and partner Daniel Fitzgibbon had an amazing start to the Rio Paralympic Games, with a 1 and a 2 on the scoreboard! The defending Olympic Champions are currently leading in the SKUD 18 class after a strong first day at the Rio Paralympic Games.  In sunny, warm conditions, the breeze built throughout the day from the south to around 10-12 knots, providing close racing in many classes. Dan stated that "The conditions here are pretty crazy.  The tides are crazy and there’s a lot to think about out there". The pair are currently three points clear of the teams from Canada and Poland who both lie on six points in equal second place. Gosford Sailing Club wishes the pair all the best for the rest of the Games!
