5th Overall in the 2017 Asian Indoor Games for Tapoki

Team Cook Islands only thrower at the 2017 Asian Indoor Games Tereapii Tapoki walked away 5th overall out of a field of 11 with a distance of 13.39, just 2.15m short of a bronze medal. As this is the first for Oceania Countries to be invited to the Games, Tapoki's outstanding performance has proven that smaller countries can perform well on a international level. 

Chinas best Ka BIAN won gold with a 17.34m distance in her first attempt, Elena of Uzbekistan finished 2nd and Lee of Korea for 3rd. Athletics Cook Island commends Tapoki on her performace and Coach Siniva for the hard work both have put into producing an outstanding result.
