MGRL 9’s Grand Final Rematch

After a successful summer 9’s competition that expanded on the previous season with the inclusion of Victoria’s Horsham Panthers, MGRL Vice-President Ben Goodman is impressed with the competitions growth and standard of footy.

“We are continuing to grow the game of rugby league here in Mount Gambier, and we are looking forward to another great Grand Final between these two top sides,” Mr Goodman says.

The nine-week Summer 9’s Cup competition saw physical and highly-skilled games played with the Jets finishing top of the table with seven wins, followed by the Blue Lake Knights on five wins who were knocked out of the Finals race by the Dragons 30-16 last weekend.

The Grand Final day will include a ‘Come ‘n’ Try’ rugby league for people of all ages from 3.30pm, followed by an exhibition game between the Knights and Panthers at 4.30pm, and the Grand Final kick-off at 5.30pm.

“It will be a great day of rugby league action with everyone having the opportunity to get involved in the sport and have a go,” Mr Goodman says.
