MetroStars Coach Announces Resignation

North Eastern MetroStars wishes to advise that Senior Head Coach Michael Pirone announced his resignation from his role, effective Tuesday 26 April.

Club President Andrew Perrone announced the decision to the Executive Committee, after Pirone spoke to the players.

"It is with mixed feelings that we announce the departure of Senior Head Coach Michael Pirone effective Tuesday 26 April 2016 when Michael broke the news to the team," said Perrone.

"Having spoken with Michael throughout the course of the year, he had expressed increased family commitments and changes to his work environment have placed ongoing pressure on him and he felt this would not allow him to continue to make the commitment to his coaching duties to the level that are required and that he had been able to deliver in the past," said Perrone.

"It is always sad to lose a dedicated, hardworking and regular top performer. Our only consolation is that Michael is comfortable with his decision and deems it necessary at this point in his life to achieve a sustainable work/life balance, particularly being a single parent and ensuring he has enough quality time for his two daughters," said Perrone.

"Michael has contributed significantly to the success of this club firstly as a key first team player, and secondly in his various coaching and support roles. We acknowledge Michael’s efforts and thank him for the unconditional commitment and dedication throughout the years, and for being the true club man that he is," said Perrone.

On behalf of everyone at MetroStars, we would like to wish Michael and family the best of success in future challenges and endeavors.

The club has since announced Robbie Saraceno as Head Coach of the Club.
