Adelaide City and Croydon Kings will be eager to find form and get back onto the winners list as they clash in round 9 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia. With Croydon sitting fifth on 12 points and Adelaide City tenth on 8 points, this clash will be pivotal in both side’s morale.

Adelaide City find themselves in a lower than expected ladder position and Alex Sunasky made it clear what is needed by his side to get back up the ladder.

“I think it’s about getting back to basics, that’s what we’ve been working on at training and just concentrating defensively because going forward we’ve been scoring plenty of goals but at the other end we’re conceding just as many which is a problem.”

From there, Sunasky talked about the need for a greater team defence.

“We work on that, it always starts with the strikers and continues as eleven and we need to be more of a solid unit.”

Despite hi side conceding a high number of goals, Sunasky was confident his side can lift themselves up against the reigning Premiers.

“It’s always tough playing Croydon, it’s always a tight match and I know they’re not playing as good as they would like to.”

“It’s going to be a really good opportunity for us to hopefully get the three points and move forward for the rest of the season.”

As the reigning Premiers, Croydon have endured some tough periods of this season and Luke Klimek talked about where his side is at.

“I think it’s been a bit up and down. We would’ve liked to been in a better position but we just got to keep trying to improve and hopefully have a big second half to the season.”

When quizzed about his side’s efficiency in front of goal, Klimek said there was a bigger picture his side must tackle.

“I think we have but there’s not really been one weak point, we’ve all just been a bit down on our performances overall.”

He signalled some key areas that his side can hopefully overcome this weekend.

“We’re just trying to work a bit harder on somethings that we’ve been letting ourselves down with.”

“We’re trying to control the game a bit more with a bit more of our passing game coming back and press teams like we did very well last year.”
