Bulleen puts four past Springvale

Bulleen has put four past Springvale White Eagles in an entertaining Monday night NPL 1 clash at David Barro Stadium.

A double to Gianni De Nittis, and goals from Lewis Waddel and Takanori Nishimoto condemned the Eagles to another loss as they sit near the bottom of the NPL 1 West standings.

The opening ten minutes saw both sides start quickly, with chances being created at either ends.

Springvale could have found themselves ahead after a volley from Hernan De Rito was blocked by a flying Samuel Borghesi, who sprawled himself to stop the ball hitting the back of the net, with his goalkeeper on the ground after saving the initial effort.

The White Eagles should have been ahead moments later when Hamish Millar rattled the crossbar with a cracking effort from range.

A minute after, Bulleen took the lead against the run of play.

Lewis Waddell made his way back into the side after a long offing due to injury and his welcome back could not have gone any better, scoring the opening goal from a well-weighted free kick from the left, almost near the corner flag.

Waddell couldn’t miss from being almost on the line, with Jeremy Sandoval horribly misjudging the flight of the ball.

The visitors seemed to drop their heads following the opening goal, and were made to pay in the following 90 seconds.

Gianni De Nittis combined well with Nishimoto, and had the visiting sides back four undone, as the striker rolled in to slide the ball calmly under the goalkeeper for the second of the match.

Borghesi was outstanding throughout the match, and five minutes into the second half saw more danger away as he headed the ball off the line to deny Springvale from pulling a goal back and changing the complexion of the game.

Nishimoto too was on fire, and he put the nail in the coffin as he struck from range to make it 3-0 on the 77th minute.

The winger ran rampant all night and was rewarded for his efforts via a strike that he took first time, finding the back of the net, which was empty after the goalkeeper failed to clear his lines.

It was over after De Nittis completed his brace, as he found himself onside after breaking the offside trap.

Another strike under the oncoming goalkeeper was followed closely by the full time whistle, a convincing win for the home side.
