A last gasp Michael Godfrey header has seen Box Hill United come back from 1-0 down to record an impressive 2-1 victory over Goulburn Valley Suns.  

The hosts had taken the lead after Craig Carley sprung the offside trap before Nikola Surdoski levelled things up before the break. 

Godfrey would break the hearts of the home side when his 89th-minute header saw Box Hill travel back home with all 3 points.  

The Suns were the more dominant from the outset, Carley in particular looking lively in the final third. 

Box Hill was continuing to show signs of their defensive strength they've found since Greg Kassidis took over the reigns just over a month ago, his sidelining comfortable with what the Suns were throwing at them. 

But the visitors had a glorious chance to get ahead when Joseph Hogarty played a delightfully lofted ball in behind for Matthew Lelliot but his best lob would sail just wide of Alex Connell's goal. 

The breakthrough came for the Suns when Carley broke free before slotting calmly past Connell. 

As the half time whistle approached though, the visitors' right back Surdoski ventured forward and unleashed a stinging strike leaving Phil Petrovski with no chance.  

The second half was a more flowing contest, both teams looking to transition quickly from the back third up to the front third. 

With a quarter of an hour remaining, experienced Suns defender Naum Sekulovski was shown his marching orders for a second book able offence. 

The visitors sensed the points were there for the taking and Godfrey would be the star of the show, riding highest at the back post from a Caleb Ludlow free kick to seal the points. 

The home side's night went from bad to worse when Carley was shown a straight red card for a poorly time tackle in the final minute of injury time.
