Sunshine snatches win through late Logozzo goal against Box Hill

Adrian Logozzo was the hero for Sunshine George Cross with his 89-minute winner stealing a 2-1 victory over Box Hill United at Wembley Park.

The midfielder popped up at the vital time in a game that saw Sunshine take the lead through Ayodeji Omoboye before Box Hill equalised thanks to Michael Godfrey.

The visitors got off to the perfect start just minutes in when Omoboye scored a lovely solo goal.

Collecting the ball on the wing, the midfielder drifted into the middle and edge of the box before curling a bouncing shot past United goalkeeper Alex Connell.

It took United 25 minutes to muster a chance from which it scored from after Godfrey looped a header from a Caleb Ludlow free kick into the net.

The hosts then had a good chance to take the lead when Dillion Jakupi collected a ricocheted ball in the box and took a shot from a tight angle, but was denied by Georgies goalkeeper Robert Santilli.

Santilli was called upon twice before the half ended comfortably denying long-ranged efforts from Ludlow and Travis Chalk-Hatton.

United had the first chance of the second period when Patrick Thiakane broke the Sunshine offside trap and found himself one-on-one with Santilli.

But the striker shot right at the goalkeeper and then failed to hit the quick rebound into an open net as it was cleared away.

The hosts increased the pressure as they pushed forward with more intensity in a bid to take lead.

Yet it was Sunshine who had a golden chance to retake the lead when Adrian Boglis drifted into the back post for a Omoboye cross but somehow with an open goal headed the ball into the bar.

The winning moment came with minutes remaining when a slick team move saw Amara Kromah break into the box and deliver a perfect cross for Logozzo to volley in.
