Former championship-winning Melbourne Victory assistant coach Aaron Healey has been appointed Dandenong City’s senior coach for 2015.

Healey has been associated with the club for the past three years, serving as City’s technical director in 2014, and replaces Ivan Duzel.

The former Young Socceroo, who worked with Ernie Merrick at Victory between 2005-2011, was instrumental in helping Dandy City transition into the PS4 NPL Victoria.

Healey completed his FFA Pro Licence with the likes of Socceroos coach Ange Postecoglou and Sydney FC coach Graham Arnold back in 2010, and is excited about the season ahead.

“I’m an ambitious coach and I view this as a great opportunity to resume senior coaching,’’ Healey said.

“Dandenong City is a great club and they have done a wonderful job entering the NPL in challenging circumstances. Going forward the club has enormous potential.

“I have been offered senior roles in the past few years and declined for various reasons, but to coach Dandenong City and continue to build and develop the club as a whole appealed to me.

“I enjoyed my year in the TD role and when I was offered the senor position I had no hesitation.

“The club has a vision and a focus on development and I’m determined to drive this at the top end.’’

Pre-season training will commence three days a week, from Tuesday 11th November and Thursday 13th November at 6.30pm at Frank Holohan Reserve, Endeavour Hills.
