FFV joins SEN's 'The Soccer Hour'

Football Federation Victoria (FFV) is pleased to announce it has joined weekly program ‘The Soccer Hour’ on sports radio station SEN 1116.

Broadcasting every Tuesday night from 8.00-9.00pm, The Soccer Hour is hosted by Mark Fine, Michael Zappone and Herald Sun football writer David Davutovic and takes an extensive look at the world game from a local, national and international angle.

Victorian football fans will be able to hear the latest National Premier Leagues (NPL) and community football news and chat to the hosts in FFV's sponsored segment, with South Melbourne coach Chris Taylor to be tonight’s special guest.

As a new FFV initiative recognising talented NPL players and coaches, The Soccer Hour will also tonight exclusively reveal the Winning Edge Presentations player and coach awards of the month (Rounds 1-4).

The Player of the Month for NPL and NPL 1, Rising Star of the Month (NPL or NPL 1) and Coach of the Month (NPL or NPL 1) awards are voted by FFV’s match reporters.

FFV Chief Executive Mitchell Murphy said FFV’s segment on The Soccer Hour would provide excellent coverage for the wider Victorian football community.

“FFV is pleased to join SEN, a reputable station with a huge following from fans of all sporting codes,” Mr Murphy said.

“This is a wonderful opportunity and one which FFV hopes will raise the individual profile of its clubs, players and coaches and promote football to a large and passionate audience.

“Mark [Fine] and Michael [Zappone] and David [Davutovic] are high-profile and respected personalities who have a strong involvement in community football, so I have no doubt they’ll help us fly the Victorian football flag.”
