Insurance requirements

by

Clause 24 of the Notice of Race states that:

“Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $ 5,000,000 (AUS) per event or the equivalent.”

The insurance broker for both Yachting Australia and Yachting Victoria suggests the following

A $5m third party cover is a minimal liability limit we would suggest. Legal fees & breach of duty of care awards can be high in Australia. The legal profession would suggest a minimal limit needed is $10m.

If needed, short term insurance is available by following the link below

Or there will be a facility to obtain insurance on-site if it is still required.

Make sure you have the correct amount of insurance, as it will be on the registration checklist.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
