Australian Rugby League Development would like to invite your school to participate in The BCU Cup which is a new competition aimed at finding the premier Under 16 school team on the North Coast of NSW from Tweed Heads to Port Macquarie. It is also a great opportunity for schools that can’t participate in our Wednesday afternoon competition (Clint Greenshields Cup) in Term 3 to participate in competitive Rugby League. It is hoped that this competition will become a major event in the North Coast High School Sporting Calendar.
The Competition will be made up 3 major gala days in Port Macquarie, Lismore, and Coffs Harbour from which the top 2 teams of each day will progress to the BCU Cup Finals at the BCU International Stadium in Coffs Harbour on Wednesday 21st September 2011.
There is a $1000 prize up for grabs which consists of $500 worth of Rugby League/Sporting Equipment for the school, and a $500 cheque, for the overall winning school to treat their players with courtesy of the Banana Coast Credit Union.
Round 1 of the inaugural BCU Cup for the Woolgoolga – Macksville area will be held on will take place on the 29th June 2011 from 9.30am – 2pm at Advocate Park, Coffs Harbour. There will also be an Under 14’s Gala Day on the same day; however the U14’s team will not progress as they will get their opportunity within the next 2 years.
- The games will be played under full international rules
- Safe Play Code applies to U14’s competition
- 20-25 minute games with no half time (teams change ends after a try)
- A maximum of 20 players per team
- 2 teams competing in the Round 1 Final, will progress to BCU Cup Final on Sept 21st 2011
To enter your school into the BCU Cup, all you need to do is complete and return the attached nomination form and send it to ARL Development via email at firstname.lastname@example.org or fax on 0266 589 557 by the 17th June 2011.
