Golden Girls Qualified for World Championships 2015

Our Golden Girls are once again qualified for the Beach Volleyball World Championships.

With great performances in the qualification games they received Gold medals during FIVB Pattaya Challenger and Hong Kong Open, plus a Silver medal at Oceania Championships. Adding up to 1364 points, they made their way to the third position, just after Australia and Thailand.

This qualification will bring them to the Netherland World Championships from June 26th to July 5th. The four best teams of every continent will compete during 208 matches held in the cities of The Hague, Amsterdam, Apeldoorn and Rotterdam. The results of these Championships will impact the selections to Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

VASANOC is really proud of Miller Pata and Linline Matauatu. Miller, 26 years old, represents Vanuatu in Beach Volleyball Competitions since 2008 and Linline has been a national figure for this sport since her sixteenth birthday. They are both accomplished mothers and take part in international fundraising events.

The two girls had to face the injury of Miller’s usual partner Henriette Iatika who played on the last World Championships in Poland. Linline stepped in last minute and the girls had to practice even harder.

Our thoughts also go to Henriette who trained for these tournaments and we wish her a good recovery.

Congratulation to our Golden Girls,
