According to Takitoa Taumoepeau, Secretary General of TASA, a confirmed email from Mr Ajay Sharma, First Secretary for the High Commission of India in Suva has indicated the convenient for the High Commissioner, Prof. Jha to visit Tonga. Takitoa also said that a formal invitation letter from the office of the President of the Tonga CGA, Lord Tupou has been forward to the High Commission in Suva. Other delegates from the High Commission office and accompanying guests will be confirmed in the next few weeks. Takitoa added that his recollection from the 2006 Commonwealth Games QBR, which was hosted by the Australian High Commission H.E Mr Colin Hill, as the Game was held in Melbourne, really portrait the culture and uniqueness of the Games. The Australian community here in Tonga threw their support throughout the time that the QBR was here. “It was the perfect setting for Team Tonga leading up for their preparation for the Games” said Takitoa. He added that a QBR sub-committee has been appointed by the Board to work and prepare for the QBR arrival and its complete engagement during the 4-day program in Nuku’alofa. The 3-member QBR sub-committee is: Takitoa Taumoepeau, Secretary General and QBR Liaison Officer Dr ‘Amanaki Fakakovikaetau, Team Tonga Chef de Mission for Delhi2010 Michael O’shannassy, Vice President.
