Olympic Torch embraced by PNG & Solomon Islands Athletes - London 2012

After months of preparation and training, and the long-awaited London Olympics edging ever closer, the Oceania athletes of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands were given a morning's break to see the Olympic Torch pass through Crewe in North West of England were they are currently training.Pauline, Mowen and Chris were amazed at the atmosphere which filled the streets of Crewe as energetic crowds gathered to see the action which marks the build-up to the OIympics. The Reporters' Academy delve deeper into the athletes' thoughts and emotions at such a crucial time before one of the biggest competitions of their lifes. 

This video was produced by Emma of The Reporters' Academy, a media production company run by young people, tasked with the mission of telling the stories of all the North West Training Camps. The Reporters' Academy is integrated into the world of media, education and employment, based in two great sporting cities, Manchester and Melbourne, and is officially Inspired by London 2012.

Port Moresby 2015

On 27 September 2009, the Pacific Games Council, at its meeting coinciding with the 2009 Pacific Mini Games, elected Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea as the host of the 2015 Games. The final vote was 25-22 in favor of Port Moresby over Tonga to host.

The Games will be held from 4 to 18 July 2015.
