Joe Rodan

FASANOC has announced the appointment of Joseph Rodan Senior as its new President replacing Reg Sanday

Mr Rodan started his career with Morris Hedstrom as a Management Cadet before managing MH branches throughout Fiji before being appointed Assistant GM.

Currently Mr Rodan is the Group Sales & Marketing & Trade Relations Manager for Paradise Beverages Ltd formerly known as Fosters.

With an academic history that includes a Masters Business Administration (units), Bachelor in Arts, and a Diploma in Business from USP, Mr Rodan is a proud supporter and old scholar of Marist Brothers High School.

Mr Rodan has also represented the country from 1975 to 1991 in the Pacific Games, Commonwealth Games, even the Olympic Games as an athlete and manager and has won numerous sporting medals that include 19 Gold Medals, 11 Silver Medals, 5 Bronze Medals.

In 2007 Mr Rodan was also inducted into the Fiji Sports Hall Of Fame.

Robin Mitchell

A practicing medical doctor since 1977, he obtained his medical degree at Adelaide University in Australia. He was the team physician for Fijian athletes at the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games and South Pacific Games from 1984 to 1992.In 1994, he was elected as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC), and remains a member to this day.


He served as Chairman of the South Pacific Games Organising Committee from 1997 to 2003, and simultaneously as President of the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee from 1997 to 2005. He was Vice-President (1989-1993) then Secretary General (1993-2009) of the Oceania National Olympic Committees, and has served as its President since 2009. He is also, since 2001, a member of the Foundation Board of the World Anti-Doping Agency. Dr Robin is also the chairman of the Legacy - Olympic Museum, Archives and Olympic Academy; Uniform Committee.       

As of 2014, he is the only member of the IOC from a Pacific Island country.

Dr Robin is also a former Fiji Hockey representative and coach.

Makarita Lenoa

Makarita Lenoa has been a part of the Fiji Karate Federation since 1997 and continues to promote sports and healthy living in Fiji.

Ms Lenoa who also played netball at National Level has been active with the sport of Karate in Fiji and the World and currently holds a vice president position with the World Karate Federation.

She was also the national Karate team manager from 2002 to 2006 and first vice president of the Oceania Karate Federation before being the president in 2008 up until now.

The retired Junior Secondary School Teacher was also the 2009 IOC Women and Sport Achievement Award and Commonwealth Sports Administrator of the Year Award recipient. In 2008 Ms Lenoa was awarded the FASANOC Administrator of the Year and a IOC Women and Sport Achievement Diploma.

Vanessa Kilner

Vanessa Kilner is a current Vice-President on the FASANOC Executive Board and is a strong supporter of sports and healthy living in Fiji.

Ms Kilner has had extensive experience in Public Relations and management.

Ms Kilner is also a proven leader; she was part of the Past Leadership Fiji Alumni Board Member, a past vice president of the Bula Festival Association and a member of Project 91 which was a community effort to build a new Nadi hospital.

Her academic achievements include a Master of Business Administration, Diploma for General Managers and Postgraduate Certificate in Human Resource Management from the University of the South Pacific and a Diploma of Business (Frontline Management) from the Melbourne Business School and a Bachelor of Business (Management) Central Queensland University.

Ms Kilners accreditations include the Golden Key International Honour Society.

Carl Probert

Athletes Representative

Carl Probert is considered one of Fiji's best male swimmers and is the current athletes representative on the FASANOC executive board.

Carl Harvie Probert is a 5-time Olympic swimmer and National Record holder. He swam for Fiji at the 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004 and 2008 Olympics.

He also competed for Fiji at the 2002 Commonwealth Games, at the 2006 Commonwealth Games and at the 2007 World Aquatics Championships.

He has been a student at the University of Sydney.

In 2008, Probert qualified to compete at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing.

While being a multiple medalist at the South Pacific Games, Carl is also the 1996 Sportsman of the Year.
