AMERICAN SAMOA and NEW CALEDONIA have been granted "member country" status by the Oceania Regional Anti Doping Organization (ORADO) Board on April 22, 2013.
At its annual board meeting at the Sheration Resort Fiji, becoming a "member country" ensured payment of annual membership contribution of USD5,000.00 per member country to help in the advocacy, promotion and coordination of the fight against doping in sport in all its forms in the Oceania Region.
Pierre FOREST, Director of Youth and Sports of NEW CALEDONIA led his delegation to perform a traditional exchange of gifts and mentioned his Department's willingness to offer exchange programmes and technical expertise in anti doping programmes as the newest member country.
Ms Felicia BALLANGER, NEW CALEDONIA's board member via translation services mentioned this was one of the many avenues which the Government of NEW CALEDONIA wanted to promote regionalism.
ORADO Board is made up of nine countries including COOK ISLANDS, FIJI, PALAU, PAPUA NEW GUINEA, SAMOA, TONGA and VANUATU.
