Athletes from
Commonwealth nations feature prominently in World Squash Federation
competitions held annually around the globe, and as such the fast-paced
competition of the Squash events in Melbourne will be world class.
The
Squash competition will be held in a purpose-built all-glass show court
at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC) where players will
challenge for five gold in both singles (men and women) and doubles
(men, women and mixed) events across 11 days of competition.
Singles
events will involve a knockout draw, with the best two players
progressing to the gold medal match, while eliminated players contest
consolation games throughout the tournament. The doubles competition
involves a round-robin with successful teams qualifying for the
knockout medal rounds.
