Final Summary of the Competition

The 7th SPMG Outrigger Canoe (Va'a) Competition was one of the most competitive ever held. With the absence of the All Conquering Tahiti contingent, the medals for this event were wide open and all Countries made the most of their chances.more

Ruthless New Caledonia Top Overall

The Team from New Caledonia won 5 gold medals at the VII South Pacific Mini Games, despite not being able to enter all events.

The Cook Islands were strong winning three gold medals, 5 silver and 2 bronze, while the Samoan Women's V6 crew maintained their levels from 2003.more

A Marathon Effort

The Men's and Women's V1 Marathons were completed today through beautiful Rock Islands of Palau.

Rain Postpones start

Severe Rain storms have delayed the start of the Outrigger Canoe Regatta.

The technical committee is meeting today to look at the feasibility of bringing the event into the more sheltered areas of the Palau Pacific Resort.

Palau Prepares for Mini Games

Canoeing in the 2005 South Pacific Games is one of the main sporting events of the Games. The Canoe Association of Palau will host this event as well as prepare the national team for next year.
