Council President Vidhya Lakhan and Executive Director Andrew Minogue visited Port Moresby in early August to examine Papua New Guinea's bid to host the 2015 Pacific Games.
The visit - the last in the series after previous trips to the other two candidates, Solomon Islands and Tonga - gave the Council an opportunity to meet the full Executive of the PNG Sports Federation and Olympic Committee headed by Sir Henry Torobert and Sir John Dawanincura, as well as with the PNG 2015 Bid Committee chaired by Mel Donald.
The Council was also able to meet with the Vice Chancellor of the University of PNG (the proposed site for the Athletes' Village), the Governor of the National Capital District, as well as overviewing the sporting venues by helicopter tour.
With the Council having visited all three candidate countries, attention now turns to the final bid presentations and then the vote by Council delegates at the annual general meeting in Rarotonga on 27 September.
The Council wishes all three candidates the best of luck!
